❗️Russia violated the ban on strikes on oil refineries. Ukraine responded.

1-2 - Russia struck the Kremenchuk oil refinery overnight - Ukraine's only oil refinery. Judging by the footage, it had somehow still been operating. A total of 15 missiles were launched at Kremenchuk and Svitlovodsk. I'm publishing footage from Z channels to document that Russia was the first to strike a Ukrainian refinery, disregarding the "energy truce" even in the twisted form in which Trump understands it.

3-8 - Ukraine struck the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery. Eleven fires were recorded. This may be the worst damage inflicted on a single refinery in one attack throughout the war. It may signal a change in tactics by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, taking out an entire refinery in a single attack rather than one unit; Exilenova+ hints at this. Initial reports indicate that three units were hit: AVT-9, AVT-11 and the diesel fuel hydrotreating unit, according to "Absolutely Reliable Source".

This is the seventh successful strike on the Novokuybyshevsk refinery; the previous one was on August 22.

This is the first Ukrainian strike on a Russian energy facility since October 20 (the Nikolskoye oil pumping station in Tambov Oblast), when, as today's Wall Street Journal article revealed, Kushner asked Zelensky during talks in Oslo to "show gratitude" and stop the strikes for 30 days:

"Kushner demanded a halt to strikes on Russian refineries at a meeting in Oslo on October 20. The conversation was 'very tough.' Kushner, who joined the conversation by phone because he was ill, told Zelensky that he had to stop the strikes because he and Witkoff were spending a great deal of time, energy and jet fuel mediating with Moscow. A 30-day pause would give Ukraine an opportunity to express its gratitude," WSJ reported, citing a U.S. official.

This is the first Ukrainian strike directly on a refinery since October 8, when the Omsk refinery was hit.

I also posted this on Twitter. For some reason, it has gone unnoticed that it was Russia that violated the terms of Trump's "energy truce" by striking the Kremenchuk refinery.

The refinery truce meets its first strike

Russia struck the Kremenchuk refinery; Ukraine then attacked the Novokuybyshevsk refinery.

Russia tested the energy truce first.
