Sevastopol authorities will be able to declare real estate ownerless and seize it without public notices that could alert owners to these plans and allow them to assert their rights
The Russian authorities in annexed Sevastopol have abolished the mandatory publication of notices identifying supposedly ownerless real estate, which allowed owners to learn of the state's claims to their property and assert their rights. This follows from city government decree No. 486-ПП of October 23, 2026.
The change could affect Ukrainians who left Crimea after the annexation and are unable to monitor the fate of their property in person, The Insider found.
