FSB to gain access to cryptocurrency exchange customers’ data
The measure is set out in the Central Bank’s proposals for the law “On Digital Currencies and Digital Rights,” Sarkis Darbinyan, co-founder of the Roskomsvoboda project, pointed out.
According to the document, the FSB will gain access to cryptocurrency exchange customers’ data, including their full names, passport details, taxpayer identification numbers, telephone numbers, transaction information and bank details, account numbers and wallet addresses, IP addresses and login times, the expert writes.
In addition, if a platform has the ability to chat with customers, that information will also be passed on to the FSB. All data will have to be stored exclusively on Russian servers.
The Association of Russian Banks reportedly proposed restricting access to private keys and transaction-signing tools, but the Central Bank refused, saying that this approach had already been agreed with the FSB.
🔴The information will be transmitted using the SORM system. The outlet Important Stories previously spoke to one of SORM’s developers and obtained access to its documentation.
