Explosions hit an ammunition depot in Bulgaria belonging to a company that supplied weapons to Ukraine
Explosions occurred at an ammunition depot of the arms company EMCO near the town of Tryavna in Bulgaria. Before the explosions, a fire broke out on the company’s premises. No one was injured, writes Radio Svoboda.
Bulgarian Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev said that, according to the preliminary version, the incident was not connected to external factors. At the same time, EMCO belongs to Emilian Gebrev, who after 2014 said that his company had supplied military products to Ukraine. Sources among current and former Ukrainian officials claimed that EMCO had signed a contract to supply Kyiv with artillery ammunition.
🔵Bulgarian authorities had previously investigated possible involvement of Russian special services in a series of explosions at ammunition depots in the country in previous years. In 2021, the prosecutor’s office reported suspicions against six Russian citizens.
