Alice built into Max does not recommend installing the state messenger on your main phone; instead, it suggests downloading Telegram and buying a “Max phone”

"Verstka" noticed that when asked whether it recommends installing Max on a primary smartphone, Yandex's AI assistant Alice built into the Max messenger gave a list of the state messenger's vulnerabilities and advised installing Signal, WhatsApp, and Telegram instead. It suggested installing Max itself on a "Max phone" (a separate smartphone for Max).

Among Max messenger's shortcomings, Alice cited the lack of end-to-end encryption, the collection of IP addresses, activity times, device and browser type, as well as other metadata.

This data may be transferred to third parties, including government agencies, upon a lawful request (for example, a court order or a reasoned request from authorized bodies),

Alice replied to "Verstka."

When Dozhd gave Alice the same prompt, it no longer recommended other messengers, but it did suggest an intermediate option between downloading it to the main device and getting a "Max phone": isolating the environment with the messenger (possible only on Android). In all three cases, Alice advises against giving unnecessary permissions to the state messenger.
