A conscript from Kemerovo Region was enrolled in contract service without his knowledge. The signatures on the documents were forged, the young man’s family said

22-year-old Alexey Polyakov was drafted in May and sent to military unit No. 54708 in Boguchar, Voronezh Region. Less than two months later, he was told that he had signed a contract with the Defense Ministry, Astra writes.

According to the serviceman’s sister, Anastasia Polyakova, in mid-July her brother was taken from the training ground and brought to the unit. There he was told that he was “one of the idiots who signed a contract.”

According to her, Polyakov was shown documents dated July 11, but was not allowed to take them in his hands. His sister claims that the signature on them was forged:

The signature looks similar, but it’s not his. And they showed a report stating a desire to serve under contract. It wasn’t written by Alexey. They didn’t even try to fake his handwriting in any way. They just wrote it in some random handwriting and that was it. At the same time, on July 11 my brother was at the training ground and physically could not have been present at the unit’s location to process and sign any documents.

The unit’s command refused to cancel his contract status despite Alexey’s statements that he had made no voluntary expression of will to enter into a contract. Later, according to Polyakov’s sister, higher-ranking officers began approaching him and demanding that he return money allegedly received for signing the contract. The family checked his accounts, but found no such payments.

🔵The conscript’s relatives appealed to the military prosecutor’s offices of Voronezh Region and the Moscow Military District, as well as to the presidential reception office. So far they have received only a notice that the appeal has been forwarded for review, the outlet writes.
