On the massive scale of “zeroings” in the Russian army, using one specific unit as an example
On the massive scale of “zeroings” in the Russian army, using one specific unit as an example.
A court in Moscow has begun hearing the case against Junior Lieutenant Pavel Gudochkin, who, together with other servicemen from the 272nd Guards Motor Rifle Regiment, put together a gang that extorted money from fellow soldiers, regularly beat them, and executed them. What is notable in this story is not only that this is the first acknowledgment by the Russian side of bloody reprisals inside the army since the start of the invasion of Ukraine. What matters is the shocking scale of the killings: according to investigators, more than 300 servicemen may have fallen victim to the “zeroers.”
According to a collective complaint by servicemen of the 272nd Regiment, submitted in 2025 to the prosecutor's office of the Moscow Military District, the mass killings of rank-and-file fighters by the unit's commanders began in 2023. Soldiers were “zeroed,” and then money was withdrawn from their bank cards using their mobile phones.
Once again: in just one unit of the Russian army, over 2 years, by the most conservative estimates, hundreds of people could have been “zeroed” (read: killed “for no reason” by their own side)! There are nearly hundreds of such units in the Russian Armed Forces, if not thousands. Put 2 and 2 together and you get a colossal number of people executed by their own, in the best traditions of the Gulag.
Reports about similar organized criminal groups run by Russian officers pour in every day: soldiers record dying videos, relatives of the “zeroed” record appeals to the authorities, even some Z “war correspondents” speak openly about it. But nobody is even thinking of doing anything about it. The fact that a few people ended up on trial is a drop in the ocean and an exception to the rule.
The Russian army right now is a huge merciless meat grinder that chews up everyone who gets into it. There is plenty of evidence of this; you'd have to be completely oblivious not to notice it. The only guaranteed way to save yourself from this meat grinder is the "I Want to Live" project. Instead of risking your life, it is better to be in safe captivity, continue receiving your monthly monetary allowance, and after an exchange return home alive and with money.

Participants in the “SMO” who formed an organized criminal group are being tried for the “zeroing” of hundreds of soldiers and bribes in exchange for guarantees they would not be sent into “assaults”
In Moscow, the trial has begun of Pavel Gudochkin, a former serviceman of the 272nd Guards Motor Rifle Regiment who left a penal colony to go fight in Ukraine and who, together with fellow servicemen, is accused of murders, beatings, bribes, and other crimes against subordinates…
A Regiment Where Its Own Were Disposable
In one regiment, over 300 soldiers may have been killed by their own.
Internal discipline turned profitable again.
