State Duma demands checks on foreign artists after reports of Kanye concert in St. Petersburg
Russia’s Ministry of Culture should check the creative track record and social media posts of all foreign performers planning to appear in Russia, deputy Nikolai Novichkov said.
“If there are suspicions of ties to Nazism, ties to criticism of the special military operation, or disrespect toward Russia and the Russian people, then such performers have no place in Russia”
Besides Nikolai Novichkov, "Sorok Sorokov" also demanded that the rapper’s work be checked. In a conversation with «Ostorozhno, novosti», they said the movement would study information on when West will arrive in Russia and with what repertoire. In particular, "Sorok Sorokov" will clarify whether the rapper removed controversial songs from the performance.
The Concert Starts With Repertoire Inspection
Before the show, artists get checked for posts, history, and songs.
Culture now enters through the suspicion filter.
