A very telling story about how Russian soldiers themselves view the bait aimed at young people in the form of “drone contracts.”

A Russian woman told about an incident on a train that shows the full depth of the horror into which Vladimir Putin and his “SMO” have plunged modern Russia. Young men who had signed contracts with the Russian Armed Forces were boasting that they had been promised service in UAV units, but their fellow traveler, a battle-hardened “SMO” veteran, quickly explained to the naive boys what their “Motherland” had really prepared for them:

“What ‘drone troops’? They’ll send you into assault units right now... You won’t survive a single day there. We’ve got loads of guys like you!”

According to the woman, the drunken serviceman literally broke down sobbing on her shoulder. He was the only one present who understood that these recruits were being seen off to certain death. Unfortunately, most people signing contracts with the Russian army do not realize where they are going or what awaits them there. Until the very end, they believe fairy tales about “rear service” or “not assault units,” and when they are transferred into assault units with a single stroke of a pen, it is usually already too late to change anything.

It is not because life is good that the Russian authorities are actively recruiting students and conscripts supposedly into unmanned systems troops (we previously published two parts of student lists: more than 1,000 names thrown into the slaughter), only to then throw them into the infantry. The main tactic of the Russian army in Ukraine, throwing manpower at the battlefield, by definition requires a constant influx of new people. Since fewer and fewer people are willing to die voluntarily in the “SMO,” they are going after everyone they can “reach.”
