FBK asked EU authorities to impose sanctions on those who removed Yabloko from the ballot

The Anti-Corruption Foundation sent an official appeal to the European External Action Service (EEAS) demanding sanctions against Russian judges and officials involved in the removal of the Yabloko party from the State Duma elections in September 2026.

FBK said that Yabloko was the only party to take a clear anti-war position, and that its exclusion from the elections deprived Russian voters of the opportunity to vote against the war.

In its appeal, FBK listed the judges who heard the case: Vyacheslav Kirillov, Igor Zinchenko, Vladimir Zaitsev, and Denis Tyutin, as well as CEC representative Sergey Sakharov and Prosecutor General's Office employee Ilya Rusakov. The organization called on the EU to add them to sanctions lists for taking part in repression against the Russian opposition and in human rights violations.

EU sanctions are already in force against Vladimir Zaitsev, and FBK is asking for his sanctions dossier to be supplemented with new grounds.
