Eight thousand people have applied to join Yabloko amid its removal from the State Duma elections. The party itself has half as many members

Over the past two weeks, Yabloko has received eight thousand applications to join the party, Kirill Goncharov, head of Yabloko's Moscow branch, said in an interview with the independent journalists' cooperative Bereg.

According to him, the party currently has about four thousand members in total. That means the party could potentially triple in size. The surge in applications to join the party came amid Yabloko's removal from the State Duma elections.

We feel that many people are now demotivated and disappointed by our removal. One of the things that can support people is continuing to remain among like-minded people. This will have not only a political effect, but also a psychotherapeutic one.
