Beauty salons have started shutting down en masse in Russia

From January to July 2026, the number of beauty businesses being liquidated in Russia rose by more than one and a half times, writes Kommersant. At the same time, the number of new registrations of specialized legal entities fell by 16.1%.

This is happening because of the higher tax burden and the outflow of specialists into private practice, says Persona chain founder Igor Stoyanov.

💜Earlier, Verstka reported on how Russia's beauty and cosmetology services market has changed during the war.

Demand for services has grown at record pace over the past four years, and sales of botulinum toxin drugs have increased by 97%. At the same time, many female clients complain about complications from counterfeit or unverified drugs.
