A French scientific journal published an article by mathematician Azat Miftakhov, who is being held in a Russian penal colony
The French scientific journal Revue de la filière mathématique published an article by Russian political prisoner Azat Miftakhov, "La conjecture de Chui dans un cadre hilbertien" ("The Chui Conjecture in Hilbert Space").
The mathematician found the solution to this problem while imprisoned in the Dimitrovgrad prison, the Telegram channel of Miftakhov’s support group reports. French mathematician Bernard Randé, who is part of the international support group for the Russian political prisoner, helped with the publication of Miftakhov’s article.
The Telegram channel FreeAzat! notes that this is already the third scientific work by Miftakhov to be published abroad since his arrest.

A French math journal published work written from a Russian penal colony.
The prison held the author, not the result.
