Comedian Semyon Slepakov was sentenced to 400 hours of community service for failing to comply with the "foreign agent law"

That was exactly the punishment prosecutors had requested for him, according to "Ostorozhno, Novosti." The Lomonosovsky District Court of Moscow found Slepakov guilty of violating Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code for refusing to label his social media accounts with a "foreign agent" disclaimer. That decision by the comedian was described in the verdict as "political."

Slepakov did not admit guilt and said through his lawyer that he has not lived in Russia since 2022 and does not post publications on Russian platforms.

A Label Earns Community Service Hours

Slepakov got 400 hours for skipping the foreign-agent label.

The label mattered more than the person again.
