Police detained about 100 people at a secret punk festival in the Leningrad region on suspicion of “performing songs in support of Ukraine”
Police carried out a raid at a festival in the Vyborg district of the Leningrad region. Law enforcement representatives told the state agency RIA Novosti that “left-radical-minded citizens gathered under the guise of a music festival near Vyborg, next to the border zone of the Leningrad region with Finland.”
The reason for the raid, RIA Novosti writes, was “suspicion of performing songs in support of Ukraine, a change of power in the Russian Federation, and mass drug use.”
About 100 people were detained, including festival participants and organizers.
Mediazona writes that this was the Day x Night festival, where, judging by the poster, punk bands from St. Petersburg and Karelia were supposed to perform.
According to Baza, the festival was previously called NOZH (“Unhealthy Lifestyle”).
