Tuvan Chingis Oyun ended up in the Russian army through the classic scheme. Previously convicted multiple times, he was under administrative supervision. At some point the local police officer came to him and gave him a choice: either sign a contract, or go to prison. Chingis chose the former, which he naturally later regretted.

After ending up in the “SMO zone,” Chingis got lucky enough to fall ill and land in a hospital. Then he was given leave, and he did not return from it: after living in a dugout for a while, Oyun realized that fighting, and especially dying, for god knows what was not for him. He returned home. He remained on the federal wanted list for more than two years before police detained him.

What awaits an AWOL serviceman after returning to the front is well known: a ticket to the assault troops. The second time, Chingis ended up near Pokrovsk. When he was sent on a “flooding” mission, he threw away part of his gear and left the route. For about 2 months, the Tuvan hid in the tree lines, above all from his own command, and in the end decided to surrender to the Ukrainian military.

Oyun does not want to fight; he wants to return home, to his family. But after an exchange, no one will let him go home. In the Russian army, as long as a soldier is alive, assault after assault awaits him again and again.
