Putin arrived in Nizhny Novgorod. Journalists checked gas stations and confirmed that most of them have gasoline again

On the day of Putin’s arrival, the city introduced a ban on vessel traffic on the Volga and Oka rivers, and also prohibited stopping on several streets.

Journalists from the outlet NewsNN drove around the city and confirmed that gasoline was available at most gas stations, although queues had formed in some places. At several filling stations, the selection is still limited, NewsNN notes.

At the same time, just a week earlier, at the height of the second wave of the fuel crisis, many gas stations in Nizhny Novgorod had no gasoline, while others had long lines.

During Putin’s previous trip to the regions, sharp changes in gasoline prices were observed in Krasnoyarsk. A day before the president’s visit, the price of gasoline at some stations in the regional chain dropped by 24 rubles, and then, once he left, returned to its previous levels.

In Nizhny Novgorod, Putin is scheduled to speak at the forum “Strong Ideas for a New Time” (which was moved for him from August 24–25 to August 27–28).
