In August, Ukraine attacked Russian oil refineries 21 times. Oil processing fell to its lowest level in 20 years

In August, Ukraine attacked Russian oil refineries at least 21 times, according to public statements by both sides. That is more than in any other month since the start of the war, Bloomberg writes.

This month, four of the ten largest refineries came under attack. The agency does not name them, but notes that they were built to supply the country's most densely populated and industrially developed regions.

The volume of oil processing in Russia fell to its lowest level in more than 20 years. According to analysts' estimates, in August Russia processed an average of about 3.8 million barrels of oil per day. By comparison, in summer Russia usually processed 5.3-5.5 million barrels per day amid rising demand due to vacations and the start of agricultural work.
