As a result of the Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia on August 27, the Khortytsia distillery burned down. The facility cannot be restored, the plant’s owner, Global Spirits, said.

Four shells hit the plant. The fire lasted at least three hours. Some of the products burned, while some melted and must be disposed of.

The company lost about three to four million bottles, on which excise tax had already been paid. The company estimates the average value of one unit of goods at 100 hryvnias.

The Khortytsia plant is one of the main enterprises of the Global Spirit holding company, where more than 500 people worked. In addition to Khortytsia, the plant produced vodka under the brands Morosha, Pervak, Medovaya, Pshenichnaya Sleza, and Gold Ukraine.
