Nezlobin told TV Rain in an interview what may have led to him being labeled a “foreign agent”
The comedian predicted that he would receive “foreign agent” status in an interview with Mikhail Fishman even before the Justice Ministry’s official publication. According to him, what may have influenced the “foreign agent” designation was that he wore a Scottish kilt during a shoot for the major British newspaper Observer:
It’s about the fact that I put on a kilt, and that provoked an even bigger wave of outrage in this narrow circle of toxic people pretending to be patriots of Russia. They started kicking up a whole fuss. They said Nezlobin put on a skirt to seem like one of them. In the West, LGBT values and all that. But it’s a kilt! It’s not a skirt!
And it turned out that three days before that they had started writing some denunciations saying that I was again supporting LGBT and so on. And the kilt finished them off too.
Watch the full interview with Alexander Nezlobin today on Mikhail Fishman’s program “And So On” at 6 p.m. Moscow time.
