The Moscow City Court has begun hearing the case of Ivan Semenikhin, an operative from the Russian Interior Ministry’s Main Criminal Investigation Directorate who specialized in solving crimes against children
For many years, Ivan Semenikhin investigated crimes against children in cooperation with foreign law enforcement agencies. Among other things, he took part in the search for an abducted seven-year-old boy from the Vladimir region in 2020.
Semenikhin was arrested on charges of treason in February 2025. Now, in addition to the treason charges, he has also been accused of unlawful access to computer information with grave consequences.
