In Novgorod, Yabloko’s peace picket was interrupted over a bomb threat report

The picket in Veliky Novgorod on September 1 had been approved by the mayor’s office, but police interrupted it because of a terrorist threat, the local party branch said.

The event lasted for an hour near the central market, opposite the United Russia office. Half an hour after it began, dog handlers, firefighters, the National Guard, and four patrol police vehicles arrived at the market: law enforcement said they had received a report that the market had been mined. At the authorities’ demand, the picket participants were forced to stop the action.

🔵In the Leningrad region on September 1, there were mass reports of bombs in schools, kindergartens, and hospitals. In Moscow, visitors to the Pushkin Museum were evacuated because of a similar report. Later, the main building of the Museum of the East in Moscow was closed “for technical reasons.”

🔵According to The Insider’s count, anonymous bomb threat reports targeting social institutions were received in at least nine Russian regions: the Leningrad, Kemerovo, and Orenburg regions, Tatarstan, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, as well as Altai, Zabaykalsky, Perm, and Krasnoyarsk krais.
