Russia “firmly rejects” Germany’s accusation of involvement in the UAV incident at Leipzig Airport; the Foreign Ministry threatened a “harsh response”

Reportedly stated by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

“On September 2, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Federal Republic of Germany in Russia was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The German diplomat was told that the Russian side firmly rejects the absolutely far-fetched accusations made by official Berlin about Russia’s involvement in the alleged incident that took place at Leipzig Airport,” the ministry said.

The decision to close the Russian consulate in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin because of this is regarded by the ministry “as yet another step toward the final destruction of the potential of bilateral relations created by many generations of Russian and German politicians and diplomats.”

“It was emphasized that Berlin had consciously engaged in an open provocation aimed at escalating Russian-German relations. The actions of the German authorities will receive a harsh response,” they added.

🔵The incident at Leipzig Airport occurred in early August: a drone with a detonator was found there next to Ukrainian cargo aircraft. Yesterday, Germany accused Russia of organizing the attack.
