The leader of Rodina’s ticket in Tver Region was removed from the elections because of shares in Apple, Meta, and Microsoft

Maksim Larin tried to get rid of them, but only after he had already been registered as a candidate, Vyorstka pointed out.

The reason for his removal from the election to the Legislative Assembly of Tver Region was that businessman Larin, who headed Rodina’s ticket, possessed “foreign financial instruments”: 47 Apple shares, 100 shares of Strategy Inc, 225 Microsoft shares, and 160 Meta shares.

Larin challenged the election commission’s decision in court, saying that he had tried to sell the foreign securities but was unable to because of sanctions restrictions. The court found that he made those attempts only after being registered for the election. Earlier, during registration, Larin had signed a notice stating that he did not use foreign financial instruments.

He was ultimately unable to restore his registration through the courts.
