In Volgograd, because of the "difficult situation," a major youth festival was canceled and the money was decided to be redirected to the war

The initiator of this was Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov; the idea was supported by city head Vladimir Marchenko.

At a meeting of the organizing committee, Bocharov said that now is "not the time for holding large-scale festive events" with shows, salutes and fireworks, and "loud, яркие toasts".

It is necessary to focus on carrying out the very difficult tasks facing us, connected with ensuring security and development,

Bocharov said, and proposed directing the money allocated for the festival "to the further support of the defenders of the Fatherland."

The decision to postpone the festival was made in connection with the difficult situation, when the enemy is trying to harm civilians, life-support systems, social facilities, and create tension in society,

the press service of the Volgograd administration reported.

🔵The #TriChetyre festival, which was supposed to be held for the fifth time, has been postponed to 2027. It is one of the largest youth events in southern Russia; last year more than half a million people took part in it.
