The outlet Important Stories spoke with developer Ivan Kirsanov, who worked at a company within the Citadel holding — the main manufacturer of the FSB’s surveillance system known as SORM.
It is reported that 24-year-old Kirsanov left Russia in 2025 and took with him an archive of technical documentation on SORM, which journalists reviewed.
Important Stories writes that the archive they obtained “describes in detail what happens to internet traffic on its way from the user to FSB officers.”
