The family estate of Putin’s “patriot” in Italy
Sergey Trofimov, better known as Trofim, supported Putin for years, performed at rally-concerts for the annexation of Crimea, and called on the president to take “decisive steps.”
And at the same time, like a typical loud “patriot,” he was steadily settling down abroad — in Italy. In 2014, when Trofim signed a letter supporting Putin’s policy in Ukraine, his family bought a 15-room house with a swimming pool in Citta di Castello. A year later, they bought almost two thousand more square meters of land nearby.
And after the start of the full-scale war, Trofim bought another plot, three times larger than the previous one. Now his family owns almost a whole hectare of Italian land.
