Drone-interceptor units staffed by reservists will be created in the Moscow Military District

The command of the Moscow Military District announced the creation of “FPV-interceptor units,” which will be formed from reservists.

According to TASS, such units are expected to use “high-speed FPV interceptor drones” to protect military and civilian infrastructure facilities.

At this stage, the press service of the Moscow Military District said, instructors are being trained who will then train reservists.

Reservists are residents of Russia who are in the reserve and have voluntarily signed a contract to be part of the mobilization manpower reserve.

In early July, it was reported that Gazprom had signed a contract with the Defense Ministry to create mobile fire groups to patrol and protect gas supply facilities. These groups are also expected to be formed from reservists. The authorities of Leningrad Oblast had also previously spoken about involving reservists in mobile groups to protect against drones.
