Germany’s Foreign Ministry backed the idea of giving Kyiv data on Ukrainians of draft age who are in the country in order to return them to Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, in an interview with Bild, supported the demand by the conservative Christian Social Union (CSU) party to transfer to Kyiv data on Ukrainian men of draft age who are currently in Germany.

After all, we know who lives here: for example, who receives social benefits, who is registered, and who has residency status

the German foreign minister said.

He added that, on the basis of this data, the Ukrainian government could send the men notices informing them that they are subject to conscription. According to the German foreign minister, the return of the men should happen “without coercion.”

🔵In the same interview, Wadephul criticized Zelensky and demanded that Kyiv take Berlin’s interests into greater account, Bild writes. According to him, Germany is “not entirely satisfied” with the volume of Ukrainian defense orders placed in the country. “That is why we asked the Ukrainian government to review this issue and achieve improvements,” he added.
