Co-owner of the Trassa gas station chain has been arrested in a case over theft of fuel intended for police

Moscow’s Meshchansky Court has arrested Igor Martyshov, chairman of the board of directors of EuroTrans, until November 6. He is accused in a case involving theft during fuel supplies for the Interior Ministry directorate for Moscow Region.

According to his lawyer, the indictment does not specify exactly what actions his client allegedly committed. Investigators say the crime was committed by an organized group, and the damage exceeds 100 million rubles.

Earlier, several other top managers of the company were arrested in the same case, as were police officers, including Sergei Malkov, the former deputy head of the Moscow Region Interior Ministry directorate and a major general. They have been charged with embezzlement on an especially large scale.

PJSC EuroTrans is an independent gas station operator that runs a network of 56 Trassa filling stations in Moscow and Moscow Region, as well as its own oil depot and fleet of fuel trucks. The company is included on the list of enterprises considered systemically important for the Russian economy. Martyshov owns a 44.1% stake in the company.
