France has backed lifting sanctions on Alisher Usmanov


Paris has joined Slovakia, which had previously repeatedly called for Usmanov to be removed from the blacklists.


Sanctions against individuals and legal entities are extended every six months, and doing so requires a unanimous decision by all EU members. The current deadline is September 15.
