Peskov allowed for trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States in October

“We are specifically talking about the foreseeable future. That is, of course, specifically, presumably, October. October cannot be ruled out,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Earlier, Putin’s aide Yury Ushakov said that during a meeting with Putin, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi confirmed the UAE’s readiness to provide a venue for talks on Ukraine. According to Ushakov, Abu Dhabi remains the priority option for resuming trilateral dialogue.

U.S. presidential special envoy Jared Kushner, speaking by video link at the Yalta European Strategy forum in Kyiv, said that territory remains the most difficult issue in the talks. He also added that the United States is working to organize a new trilateral meeting.

Territory will be the main issue, and here the parties’ positions still diverge. But even if the parties were ready to come together on territory, the rest of the deal needs to be formed. And that is what we have been doing for the past nine months,

he said.

According to him, the United States’ task as mediator is to find a “creative solution” that would not contradict Ukraine’s wishes and would make it possible to end the war.
