A Moscow court blocked pirated versions of the book Heated Rivalry about the love between two hockey players

The Cheryomushki District Court in Moscow banned access to three pages on pirate websites where American writer Rachel Reid’s novel Heated Rivalry had been published. The outlet Verstka noticed the decision in the court’s case database.

The sites in question are BookPlaneta, Siteknig, and Libsafe. On the first two pages, a notice appeared saying that the text of the work had been removed at the request of the rights holder. The book’s page on Libsafe has been deleted entirely. The court ruling says the pages contain “images promoting non-traditional sexual relations.”

As Verstka notes, the only image there was the book cover showing two hockey players preparing for a faceoff.

Rachel Reid’s book, which tells the story of the love between two hockey players, has been adapted into a popular series of the same name.
