Russia earned its highest oil revenue since May 2026

Oil shipments are rising amid a surge in prices caused by the war in the Middle East, Bloomberg writes.

Over the week, Russia shipped

.42 billion worth of oil abroad, more than in any week since late May, the outlet reports, citing tanker-tracking data. The country managed to earn about $620 million more than a week earlier.

In addition, last week Russia’s crude oil exports reached their highest level since May. Over the past four weeks, seaborne oil shipments abroad rose to 3.54 million barrels per day. This happened precisely as oil prices surged sharply because of attacks on a pipeline running through Saudi Arabia, the outlet notes.

The heads of major U.S. energy companies, including Chevron, warn of an inevitable prolonged fuel shortage. At the same time, Donald Trump’s administration calls the disruptions “temporary” and hopes to bring prices down by increasing production in Venezuela.
