The Kremlin decided to convince Russians in advance that videos of ballot stuffing will be AI-generated. With a deepfake of Leonardo DiCaprio with six fingers

The Telegram channel “War on Fakes” published an AI video about ballot stuffing in elections. In it, Leonardo DiCaprio with six fingers, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, and the Alien from Ridley Scott’s film of the same name drop ballots into a ballot box, while a voice-over warns that videos of violations may be generated using AI.

Behind “War on Fakes” is the ANO “Dialog,” an organization whose work is overseen by Sergei Kiriyenko, first deputy head of the Russian presidential administration. Dialog employees provide information support for the Russian Defense Ministry and invent fake news about Ukraine.
