In Zabaykalsky Krai, a woman had her smartphone confiscated and was fined 30,000 rubles over an AI-generated photo of a bear. This was reported by the administration of the village of Duldurga.

A justice of the peace in the Duldurginsky judicial district of Zabaykalsky Krai found the woman guilty of spreading “knowingly false socially significant information under the guise of reliable reports.”

According to Zabaykalsky Krai’s Ministry of Natural Resources, in early September, photos of a bear that had allegedly come out toward the village of Durulga appeared on social networks in the district. Game managers went to the indicated location. They did not find the predator. Later it turned out that a local resident had been distributing images created using artificial intelligence.
