It was proposed that Russians pay for protecting power plants from UAVs

Russian energy companies proposed raising tariffs for citizens in order to raise funds to protect power plants from drone attacks.

As Reuters reports, Alexandra Panina, head of the Council of Energy Producers, proposed including the costs of security and restoring facilities in the capacity surcharge paid by consumers. The idea was supported by Vladimir Rashevsky, a member of the board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

At the same time, electricity tariffs for Russians have already risen by 39.2% since the start of the war. From October 1, they are planned to be raised by another 11.3%, and in 2027–2029 by an additional 24.4%. Thus, the cumulative increase by the end of the decade could amount to 92.7%.
