Russia’s Digital Development Ministry reported an attempted act of sabotage on communications networks in the Far East to disrupt the elections
The ministry said that internet service had gone down in Sakhalin and Magadan regions, as well as in Kamchatka and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The ministry named “deliberate damage to a fiber-optic communications line” as the cause.
“The consequences of the outage were promptly resolved,” the Digital Development Ministry said.
