The Komi election commission denied reports that a criminal case had been opened over violations at one polling station

This was stated by Dmitry Mityushev, chairman of the republic’s Election Commission, reports Komiinform. According to him, law enforcement agencies are checking the situation.

“When conclusions are made, it will be possible to talk about the initiation of criminal or administrative proceedings,” he noted.

He added that the information initially appeared in “unverified sources” and then spread through the media and social networks.

As the outlet indicates, this concerns polling station No. 62 in Syktyvkar.

On September 18, State Duma deputy and Communist Party candidate Oleg Mikhailov published a video saying that 48 ballots marked for United Russia had been found at polling station No. 62.

Later, the Mir 24 TV channel, citing Mityushev’s words, claimed that the matter allegedly concerned polling station No. 18 in Komi, where “voting was annulled and a criminal case was opened.”
