A St. Petersburg resident was jailed for 10 days over posts about a Communist Party project for monitoring elections
Oleg Petrov from St. Petersburg was found guilty under a charge of displaying prohibited symbols because of posts about the Red Control project, the city courts’ press service reports.
The reason was links to “all possible information resources currently prohibited,” the post says. Petrov stated in court that he had forgotten to delete them. Most likely, this referred to links to Instagram and Facebook.
▶️ Red Control appeared ahead of the 2021 State Duma elections. On their website, people can fill out a form to become an election observer.
