United Russia will receive 5.5 billion rubles a year from the budget based on State Duma election results

United Russia will receive about 5.5 billion rubles annually for the votes received by the party’s federal list in the completed State Duma elections, Verstka calculated.

Under the law, parties annually receive money from the federal budget at a rate of 152 rubles per vote if they win more than 3% of the vote in Duma elections. The funding remains in effect throughout all five years of the elected State Duma convocation’s term.

As of 10:30 a.m. Moscow time on September 21, after 95% of polling-station protocols had been counted, United Russia had received 36 million votes, which will bring it just under 5.5 billion rubles a year.

The Communist Party, which has received 8.6 million votes in the election so far, can count on more than 1.3 billion rubles a year from the budget. The LDPR, with 5.58 million votes, will receive almost 850 million rubles a year.

New People can count on more than 750 million rubles annually for the 4.955 million votes it received. Finally, A Just Russia, despite likely failing to make it into the new State Duma convocation, will keep state funding. The party received 3.087 million votes and will get about 470 million rubles a year.

Compared with the results of the 2021 Duma campaign, United Russia, New People, and the LDPR will receive more funding from these payments. During the previous convocation, the “party of power” received 4.27 billion rubles for its 2021 votes, New People only 456 million, and the LDPR 646 million rubles. The communists (1.62 billion in the previous convocation) and A Just Russia (638 million) ended up “losing out.”

🟦The authorities have not raised the “price” of a vote since 2016, when it was increased at once from 110 rubles to the current 152. Two Verstka sources in the Federal Assembly said in the spring that the issue of a new “indexation” of these payments was “under discussion,” and that the new “price of a vote” could theoretically exceed 200 rubles.
