Russians suspected of links to the propaganda channel Rybar were expelled from Czechia

Czech police detained reporter Vitaly Chashchukhin and cameraman Igor Dolmatov, writes Seznam Zprávy, the outlet that exposed them using hidden-camera footage.

During questioning, according to the outlet, both said they work for the newspaper Izvestia, which is also under EU sanctions. Both were issued orders to leave Czechia within three days.

Police confirmed to Seznam Zprávy that Chashchukhin had been detained, but declined to comment. According to the outlet, Chashchukhin returned to Germany, where he has lived for about 10 years on the basis of a residence permit.

According to Seznam Zprávy’s sources, Czech intelligence services are continuing their checks and have informed their German counterparts about this.

🔵Seznam Zprávy journalists said they lured out Rybar’s film crew under the guise of an interview with disinformation expert Bohumil Kartous. During hidden filming in Prague, they forced Chashchukhin, who lives in the EU, to admit that he works for a sanctioned entity.
