Ukraine agrees to a “full, immediate, and unconditional ceasefire”

Diplomats from 51 countries, on behalf of their states, signed a joint declaration on the Russian-Ukrainian war, which was released ahead of a UN Security Council meeting on September 23.

“Since March 2025, Ukraine has agreed to a full, immediate, and unconditional ceasefire. We call on Russia to finally do the same, which is a necessary step toward meaningful diplomacy and negotiations leading to peace… Ukraine seeks peace. We want peace. Russia must stop its aggression, accept a ceasefire, and meaningfully negotiate a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in accordance with international law,” the document says.

The document was signed by authorized representatives of the European Union and its member states, as well as diplomats from Canada, Switzerland, Georgia, Moldova, Australia, New Zealand, Panama, Korea, the United Kingdom, and other countries.
