The United States invited Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit in Miami
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this at a briefing after talks with Sergey Lavrov.
Answering a question about whether Moscow is interested in an “energy ceasefire,” Rubio said: “I think both sides have expressed an interest in a limited ceasefire involving grain and energy supplies” (quoted by Sky News).
Rubio noted that the United States is ready to play a “constructive role” in achieving such a ceasefire.
“Perhaps this will serve as a starting point or a platform for a larger agreement,” the U.S. secretary of state added.
