In Tula Region, 54 million rubles allocated to support orphans, foster families, and low-income people was redirected to payments for military personnel and National Guard employees

The Tula Region government redistributed 54.2 million rubles earmarked for social support for residents of the region. The Insider drew attention to the authorities’ decree.

Most of the amount (41.8 million rubles) had been allocated for monthly payments to guardians, trustees, and foster parents for the maintenance of children. The remaining money was redistributed from funds intended to support orphans, adoptive parents, low-income families, pensioners, labor veterans, and other categories of residents of the region.

The funds were directed to one-time payments to “certain categories of military personnel and persons serving in the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, certain categories of citizens and members of their families,” according to the regional government decree.
