0 million reward for the capture of Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces — WSJ


Russian authorities, through criminal networks across the post-Soviet space, have announced a 
0 million reward for information that would help locate Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces. Members of the unit told journalists from The Wall Street Journal about this.


Because of the threats, Brovdi and his subordinates have to observe heightened security measures. During the interview, the WSJ journalist had to turn off geolocation and place his smartphone in a Faraday bag that blocks mobile signal, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. He was driven to the command center in a car with tinted windows.


Robert Brovdi is a native of Uzhhorod of Hungarian origin. Before the war, he was in the grain business, and after the invasion began, he went to war as a volunteer. In May 2022, Brovdi created the aerial reconnaissance unit “Magyar’s Birds.” Over time, it grew into the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems.
