This fall, about 120,000 conscripts are planned to be sent for compulsory military service, said Yevgeny Burdinsky, head of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. He assured that conscripts “will not be sent to carry out tasks of the special military operation.”
At the same time, according to him, during the spring draft campaign (April-July), more than 140,000 people were sent for compulsory military service.
