Putin was accompanied by a helicopter during his trip to Chelyabinsk region. And all federal highways in the region were closed for an entire day
During Vladimir Putin’s trip to Chelyabinsk region on October 2, the presidential motorcade was accompanied by a helicopter, presumably a military one. This follows from a video showing the motorcade passing by. The video was filmed by a local resident and published by the Telegram channel Chelyabinsk of the Future.
Before this, a helicopter had been spotted in Putin’s motorcade in May 2026, during the Russian president’s visit to Kazakhstan. Putin was also accompanied then by an armored vehicle with a place for a machine gunner, as well as a vehicle with a structure on its roof that could have been an electronic warfare (EW) system.
In Chelyabinsk region, Putin visited the Chebarkulsky training ground, where he observed military exercises by CSTO countries. Against the backdrop of his arrival, traffic on all federal highways in the region was closed for three days (from October 2 to 5). This caused traffic jams stretching for many kilometers. Exits from Chebarkul were blocked on the day of Putin’s visit.
Updated. On October 3, Rosavtodor reported that restrictions on federal highways in Chelyabinsk region had been lifted ahead of schedule.
