NATO is working on a strategy using AI and drones in the event of a Russian attack — Bloomberg

NATO’s supreme allied commander is working on a “strategy for achieving a rapid victory” in the event of a Russian attack on the alliance’s eastern flank, Bloomberg reports, citing sources.

The strategy reportedly gives particular attention to NATO’s integration of new defense technologies, such as drones and artificial intelligence.

The document is called “Theory of Victory”; the agency has reviewed its unclassified version, which will be presented on October 12 in Poland.

Given the unstable and complex global security environment, we need to create the conditions now to deter aggression and, if necessary, prevail in the event of an attack,

said Colonel Martin O’Donnell, a spokesperson for NATO’s supreme allied commander.

The strategy emphasizes NATO’s defensive nature and the need to avoid unintended provocations. It also speaks of the need to collectively counter hybrid threats as part of deterrence.
