A case has been opened against Andrey Loshak for “justifying terrorism”

Moscow’s Basmanny Court has arrested journalist and documentary filmmaker Andrey Loshak in absentia in a case over “justifying terrorism”, reports Ostorozhno, Novosti.

The hearing took place back on September 29, but nothing had previously been known about the case or the arrest. It has not yet been reported what exactly Loshak is accused of.

Andrey Loshak is a journalist and author of documentary films and reports. His recent works include the film “Pentagon,” about residents of Saratov Region who live below the poverty line, as well as the project “Age of Dissent,” about supporters of Alexei Navalny who took part in his 2018 campaign.

After the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the journalist left the country. In 2023, Russia’s Justice Ministry declared Loshak a “foreign agent.”
